Ages 6-11

This is a mixed children’s choir with a community feel. This lively choir performs in termly concerts and takes part in the Beckenham Music Festival. The choir sing a fun variety of repertoire. New members are always welcome to come and join us for a free trial.

Ages 6-11

Emerald Chorus is an excellent introduction to choral singing. The choir learn  songs which are fun and varied in style ranging from unison to two or three parts. The members make new friends and bond through their enthusiasm for singing.Well that was a great night at the Sutton Music Festival. Osiris were awarded ‘Outstanding’ and came away with the Borough Challenge Shield, the Senior Challenge Shield, a first place gold medal and some fantastic comments. Emerald Chamber Choir won their class too and were awarded the Intermediate Challenge Shield and a gold medal. Emerald Chorus also sang well and had some lovely comments. Performances to be proud of. Congratulations everyone!

The choir regularly take part in concerts and festivals which provide many opportunities to gain confidence in performance. In March 2014, Emerald Chorus enjoyed taking part in Choir of the Year.

Ages 11-14

Emerald Chamber Choir is an award winning choir who achieve outstanding levels of performance. The members develop their music reading skills whilst singing a varied repertoire in a sociable environment.

This is a confident choir which enjoy exploring the choral repertoire. Chamber Choir have won the Sutton Music Festival Intermediate shield five times.

Winners of the Sutton Music Festival Intermediate Challenge Shield 2015, 2016 and Beckenham Music Festival Prize Baton 2012.

 

Osiris Ensemble image

Wednesdays 7.30 – 9.30pm in Carshalton Beeches, Surrey SM5 4JJ

Ages 14-25

Osiris Ensemble is a lively, enthusiastic choir who enjoy performing a wide variety of music . From Bruckner to Lady Gaga, Gershwin to Cold Play, they relish a challenge and enjoy sight-reading new music.

In September 2013, Osiris celebrated its 25th anniversary with a reunion concert at St Mark’s Church, Purley.  Many past Osiris members returned to sing and join forces with the current members to form a large, powerful choir. Most ex-members who returned still sing in choirs or as soloists and a large number are now professional musicians.

In June 2014, Osiris performed the  West Side Story Concert Suite No.2 with Sutton Symphony Orchestra.

Recent festival successes include being awarded ‘Outstanding’ at the Sutton Music Festival 2015 and 2016. Winners of the Senior Choir Challenge Shield 2016, the Borough Challenge Shield 2016 and the top choir award of a £100 cash prize. Winners of the Croydon Music Festival Covina Trophy in 2016.  They were awarded the Beckenham Music Festival Senior Choral Shield in 2010, 2011, 2012. At the Sutton Festival 2012, Osiris won the Borough Choir Shield and the Challenge Shield. They also came 1st in the Coulsdon and Purley Festival 2013.

In 2014, Osiris enjoyed taking part in BBC Choir of the Year. The choir are often booked to sing at functions and events, but they always perform at least one concert each term.

 

 

Emerald Choir

Performance

This choir is a select group of singers who are formed especially to suit specific events. The Emerald Choir sang at the BITC Gala Dinner at the Royal Albert Hall on 2nd July 2013 and also performed at the Alliance Boots CSR launch at Kew Gardens in October.

In 2006, the Emerald Choir reached the Category Finals of BBC Choir of the Year at the Millennium Centre, Cardiff which was broadcast on BBC Radio 3.

Emerald Choir were awarded the National Artillery Lodge Prize of £100 for its performance at the Choral competition at the 2017 Sutton Music Festival.
