MUSIC WEEK 2013

13.4.06 069

Music Week was fantastic again this year. With another very talented bunch of students we explored music from around the world. We even had a Bollywood Dance Workshop with a special performance at the end of week concert. The party was better than ever with an amazing fashion parade of the newspaper outfits. The week culminated in an exciting concert including our new Taster course children who were aged between 3 and 5. ¬†Songs and instrumental music covered music from every continent and performing were the usual mix of structured groups and break away ensembles which evolved throughout the week. This year we were able to put together a band of beginner instrumentalists who gave their rendition of Land of Hope and Glory. Some of the children had only been playing their instruments for a couple of months. The more advanced band played a selection from Fiddler on the Roof. The three choirs sang individually and then joined up for a selection of songs. It is great to have so many musicians in one place for a whole week and there is a great relaxed atmosphere where everyone can enjoy making music together. Here’s to next year!Indian Dancing
